It was a fun family night to the store. Christian has actually been going to Tiger Cubs for a couple of months now. Even though Mike walks by a scout shop everyday on his way to the office, he wanted Christian to have the experience of going and purchasing these special duds. Scouting made a huge impact on Mike's life and I know he is hoping that it will do the same for Christian and Katie.

Tiger Cubs, here we come...
Mike exclaimed to his son in the middle of the store, "I have been waiting 14 years for this day to come." Yes, that would be before children, before he even married me. What could it be...buying his son a tiger cub uniform.
Of course, working for the Boy Scouts, he couldn't be shown up by the den leader whose son was in full uniform, so we had to get the whole shebang, including the pants. Katie was excited for her little brother to have the uniform too and kept on trying to get more things for him to take home. She wanted to get some pants for herself. The kids think the zip off pant to shorts their dad has for his uniform are really cool, so of course they would want some for themselves. When it came to the hat, well, let's just say the pace of head growth has not slowed down, so he is in the larger tiger cub hat. :)
Christian just loved all the attention being zeroed in on him. And there was attention, let me tell you. Mike was one proud papa. You would have thought by how loud he was talking that he was showing off his newborn son. I had to tell him that I was pretty sure that we didn't have to do this quite so dramatically. We had one great service oriented salesman that Mike got in on the picture. (Yes, he made sure we had the camera before we left...check). And if the previous posts didn't confirm that our son was one true to the core ham bone, then these pictures will.

Congratulations to Christian!
I loved the photos. We felt
the same way when Brett did tiger
cubs. It is such a special time
for boys and their dads.
Good for you for making a special
memory out of the experience.
You guys are the best!
I LOVE IT! LOL! If scouting were my thing, and I was providing for the needs of my family through scouting, you better believe I would be super proud to finally have a son that could break into the scouting biz. LOL
I can just imagine how excited Mike was in the store.
My brothers were all very involved in scouting, all eagle scouts, thanks to my mom who served tirelessly for years and years as either a Weblos or cubs leader and encouraged them.
Go mom!
Congratulations Christian (and Mike)! What a fun day for you.
Awesome. congratulations Christian (and Mike). Watch out Cherylann. When Matt joined Tiger Cubs Jana ended up being the leader. Even though she swore she wouldn't.
Thanks for all the congratulations. They are loving it. Mike is on cloud nine and so is Christian. The new zip pants are quite the rage too. I am sure I will get more involved as time goes on, but I am guaranteed a hands off year this time, I am a young women's leader and we meet the same time, same night as Tiger Cubs. But it is great for Mike to have that time with Christian...and Katie as she tags along for it. :)
That is awesome. I am sure that my Vern will be the same way with his boys. He already has to control himself at the scout shop. I am afraid what he will do with the excuse, "it is for the Boys."
