Christian, Christian, Christian...

If the last couple of weeks are any indication, this is going to be a really...interesting...year for Christian. Last night I couldn't stand Christian's hair any longer (no pun intended). Before his shower I threw him on the stool and got out the scissors and clippers and did a bang up job, if I can say so myself.

As I was in the bathroom putting the clippers back in its container, waiting for Christian to follow for the shower, he came and and asked, "How does it look?".

I thought, good, of course. Until I turned and looked at his hair. At first my brain processed the scalp I was seeing as hair standing up in front. Then I looked closer, because his hair can't stand up when it is that short, and gasped. "Christian, what did you do?"

"I cut it, Mom" he replied. My hands had been full when I had left the scissors behind as I was putting the clippers away. Nice.

I immediately found the scissors I had left behind and evened it up by cutting off all of his "bangs". Blogging was forgotten for the moment, so I forgot to take a picture before. He wouldn't let me take an after the fix picture because he was feeling a little silly for having done it. I will try to sneak one when he doesn't realize what I am doing. (okay, we got it under duress... :) )He is not so happy about how short it is in the front and I am pretty sure he will never do it again. He was embarrassed and wouldn't tell Mike what had happened this morning (he was gone last night when it occurred). I let Christian know, however, that it is apparently genetic as you can see here in this picture. Yes, that is Mike's self hair cut along with cutting the eyelashes off too, right before school pictures. Christian said after telling him the story "At least I didn't cut my eyelashes off, Mom." Yes, I am glad we stopped there...and that it wasn't right before our big picture day!

(Here is Mike the year before, just to show the huge difference hair and eyelashes do make. :) )

I'm in awe! Those pictures are beyond classic! Not to mention the fact that I think your kids look exactly like your husband after seeing these. So great!! By the way, do you have any time next week that we can play while the kids are at school? I'm free except for Tuesday.

Oh Mie you hottie! Love it! Those are indeed some very classic pictures. Hmm, I wonder who the kids take after in their looks.

I have been very fortunate that my kids have never cut their own hair... knock on wood. No, we just leave the hair dressers at Great Clips to mess it up for us.
